Everyone Has a Business in Them: Here’s How to Find Yours
Jan. 11, 2025, 12:02 p.m.
Have you ever felt fed up with working for someone else? Stuck in a job that doesn’t light you up? You’re not alone — and more importantly, you don’t have to stay stuck. I believe that everyone has a business in them. Yes, even you.
You might not know what it looks like yet. You might feel like you don’t have the skills or that starting a business is too risky. But the truth is, we all have something we can offer to the world, and there’s never been a better time to turn that into a living.
In this blog post, I’m going to walk you through the first steps to finding your business idea and how you can start building a life that feels more like YOU — one that brings both joy and income.
Let’s do this!
Why I Believe Everyone Has a Business in Them
People often think of entrepreneurs as risk-takers, inventors, or tech geniuses. But that’s not necessarily the reality. The real magic of entrepreneurship is taking something you already know, love, or have experienced, and using it to solve a problem for someone else.
Think about this:
Do people often ask for your advice on a specific topic?
Is there a hobby or skill you’ve mastered over the years?
Have you been through a life experience that others are just starting to navigate?
Those are all seeds of a potential business. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You just need to take what’s already inside you and package it in a way that helps others.
Step 1: Discover Your Hidden Business Idea
The first step is to uncover what’s already inside you. Here are a few questions to get your wheels turning:
1. What comes naturally to you?
Maybe it’s organizing, storytelling, problem-solving, or teaching. Think about what people naturally come to you for help with.2. What do you lose track of time doing?
Is there something you do for fun that makes hours fly by? That’s a big clue that it could be turned into a business.
3. What problems have you solved in your own life?
The best businesses solve problems. Maybe you’ve figured out how to navigate a tough life transition, manage money better, or get healthier. Your experience can become someone else’s shortcut.
Step 2: Overcome the Fear of Starting
If you feel a little scared about starting something new, congratulations! That’s normal! Fear of failure, fear of judgment, and even fear of success can all hold us back.
But here’s the thing: you don’t need to have it all figured out to start.
Let me say that again: You don’t need to have it all figured out to start.
Starting small is the key. You don’t need a fancy website (although if you want one, hit me up!), a huge social media following, or a perfectly polished offer. You just need to take one step at a time.
Step 3: Create Your First Offer
Once you have an idea of what your business might look like, it’s time to turn it into an offer.
Here’s a simple framework to follow:
What problem are you solving? Be specific. For example, instead of “I help people get healthier,” say, “I help busy moms find time for fitness without sacrificing family time.”
Who are you helping? Your offer will resonate more if you’re clear on who it’s for. Think about their struggles, desires, and what they’re looking for.
What’s the easiest way to get started? This could be a one-on-one session, a PDF guide, a workshop, or even a simple Instagram post sharing your story and inviting people to reach out.
Step 4: Start Small and Build Confidence
You don’t need to quit your job overnight or invest thousands in a new venture. Start small. Offer your service to a few people. Get feedback. Improve it. And keep going.
Here are a few ways to start small:
Offer a free trial to your first few clients to build testimonials.
Share your journey on social media to see who resonates.
Create a simple landing page (I can help with that) to collect interest.
The key is to build momentum and confidence. The more you see people responding to your offer, the more you’ll believe in yourself.
You Have What It Takes
The journey from feeling stuck in a job to running your own business isn’t about luck or genius ideas. It’s about taking what’s already inside you, getting clear on how you can help others, and starting before you’re ready.
Remember, you don’t have to do it alone. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, and find communities that support your growth. (Hey, you’re here reading this - you’re already on the right track!)
The world needs what you have to offer. Let’s find your business and bring it to life.
What’s Next? If this resonated with you, stay tuned. I’m working on a step-by-step guide to help people like you go from fed up to thriving in your own business. Ready to take the first step? Let’s do this together.
P.S. What’s your hidden business idea? I’d love to hear from you! Drop a comment or send me a message — let’s create something amazing.
